Jewellery Care Guide
JEWELLERY CARE GUIDE
Each piece is designed to be worn and lived in, but all jewellery benefits from mindful care. Metals and gemstones — even those that feel durable — can scratch, fade, or wear over time.
With the right care, your jewellery will retain its beauty for years to come.
GOLD PLATED JEWELLERY
Gold plating is a layer of real gold bonded onto a base metal. The thickness of this layer determines both its appearance and longevity.
This jewellery is finished with a 2.5 micron gold plating, which is considered a high-quality, durable plating — significantly thicker than standard flash plating.
What to expect:
Gold plating is not permanent. Over time, natural wear will occur, influenced by skin chemistry, frequency of wear, and exposure to elements.
To extend the life of your jewellery:
-
Avoid water — remove before showering, swimming, or washing hands
-
Keep away from perfumes, lotions, oils, and cleaning products
-
Remove before exercise, as perspiration can accelerate wear
-
Avoid friction (stacking, sleeping, or tight layering)
-
Store pieces separately in a soft pouch or lined box
Cleaning:
Gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing. Avoid abrasive cloths or polishing agents, as these can wear away the plating.
RAW GEMSTONES
Raw gemstones are left in their natural, unpolished state. This preserves their organic beauty. Some raw gemstones are more delicate and require extra care.
RAW BLUE KYANITE
Blue kyanite has a naturally layered, almost blade-like crystal structure, giving it a distinctive shimmer and texture.
Nature of the stone:
-
Has variable hardness (hard in one direction, softer in another)
-
Sensitive to pressure and impact
Care:
-
Handle gently — avoid knocks or drops
-
Do not wear during physical activity
-
Avoid prolonged water exposure
-
Never use ultrasonic or chemical cleaners
-
Store separately to prevent contact with harder stones
RAW BLUE APATITE
Blue apatite is known for its vivid colour, but it is a softer, more fragile gemstone.
Nature of the stone:
-
Relatively soft
-
Sensitive to heat and chemicals
Care:
-
Avoid impact, friction, and abrasion
-
Keep away from perfumes, lotions, and chemicals
-
Do not expose to heat
-
Clean only with a soft, dry cloth
-
Store carefully, away from harder materials
